Talented country music singer-songwriter and Sirius XM Highway Find artist Josh Dorr has been building a name for himself in the country music world for nearly 5 years. The artist, who began his career rubbing elbows with talents like Brothers Osbourne, Kacey Musgraves and Kree Harrison, has been on fire lately thanks to his new single “Rocket.” This catchy, upbeat rock anthem is a true winner.

“The idea for ‘Rocket’ came from me growing up in Wyoming, and always being outside. In my opinion, you can never go wrong taking a girl on a date in the outdoors,” said Josh in a press release. “It’s about being adventurous, living in the moment, and that’s what I wanted to capture writing the song, really painting a picture so that the fans can take that journey with me every time my band and I take the stage!”

While “Rocket” is the song that’s been getting Josh recognized, the artist also recently released a beautifully sincere acoustic version of his emotional song “Down Goes The Cowboy.” This deeply emotional song is sure to tug on your heartstrings.

A song about his cousin, Josh has a genuine and personal connection to the lyrics and the true emotion he put into writing this song is apparent in his voice and performance.

“’Down Goes The Cowboy’ is a very personal and close-to-the-heart song for me, it’s about my cousin Chad who grew up bull and bronc riding his whole life, back home in Wyoming,” Josh explained. “On his 13th bronc, he got bucked off, and landed head first and was paralyzed. The doctors told him he would never walk again, and he persevered with true cowboy grit. Now, he can walk with a cane! He is a huge inspiration in my life, and I hope this song inspires anyone who hears his story, to not give up, and that miracles do happen. He’s walking proof.”
