Do you remember when Julianne Hough starred in the feature film “Rock of Ages” with Tom Cruise? Julianne does. The actress/dancer/singer posted a throwback Thursday clip of a particular pole dancing scene she performed in the movie.
Throwback Thursday, abbreviated #tbt, is a social media occurrence where people post old photos or videos on Instagram as a salute to past happenings. Julianne took part in this event with classic video from the movie.
“#tbt to performing Rock You Like A Hurricane with the one and only @tomcruise in Rock of Ages,” Julianne wrote on the post. “Pole dancing in this movie for the first time was so much harder than I thought it would be. The upper body strength needed is insane, I was sore for weeks!! #deletedscenes.”

For those who are having a hard time remembering the 2012 film, “Rock of Ages” starred Julianne and Diego Boneta with appearances by Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Åkerman, Mary J. Blige, Bryan Cranston and Tom Cruise.
The official synopsis reads: “Soon after hopping off a bus from the Midwest, aspiring singer Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) immediately finds herself in trouble. Coming to her rescue is Drew (Diego Boneta), a bar-back at the legendary club the Bourbon Room. With stars in their eyes, the young lovers chase their dreams, but a misunderstanding involving rock god Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) threatens to tear them apart.”

Remember it now? While it wasn’t a huge blockbuster, “Rock of Ages” is worth checking out, if you like musicals and star power.
