Kacey Musgraves’ Video for “High Horse” is the Disco Party We Didn’t Know We Needed

If you’ve not heard Kacey Musgraves’ latest single, “High Horse,” you’re missing out. Kacey has transcended country music with a disco era uptempo tune that will have you harkening for the Studio 54 days again.

For all the country fans saying it’s not country, you are correct, it’s not, but Kacey wasn’t aiming for it to be. And if you didn’t think it was possible, Kacey beefs up the song with a brand new video.

In the video Kacey, dressed in 70s era clothing, puts her 9-to-5 job on pause as she dreams about  telling off her boss and coworkers. Who can’t relate?

“Everyone knows someone who kills the buzz every time they open up their mouth / yeah everyone knows someone who knows someone who thinks they’re cooler than everybody else / And I think we’ve seen enough / seen enough / you ain’t never gonna come down / why don’t you giddy up giddy up / and ride straight out of this town / you and your high horse / you and your high horse,” she sings in the chorus.

The video comes complete with a cheesy slimeball of a boss, orange jumpsuits that only Kacey could pull off, as well as subtle signs and signals throughout describing exactly how Kacey feels.

Kacey is currently on tour with Harry Styles, wrapping up July 14-15 with 2 nights at LA’s The Forum. Kacey will kick off her headlining Oh, What A World: Tour this fall.
