Keith Urban’s timely and sometimes wonky “Female” is and was a much-needed jolt to the type of songs being released in Nashville. Originally billed as a reply to the Harvey Weinstein scandal, it packs a much more powerful punch lyrically and deals with everything from stereotypes to Beyonce to rape culture to the finer things about being a female.
Recently, Keith shared an acoustic version of the tune– just his vocals and his guitar and somehow, it’s even more powerful than the studio version.
The backlighting also makes him look especially angelic, which doesn’t hurt.
