Keith Urban ended 2016 and rang in 2017 as the main attraction for Nashville’s Music City New Year’s Eve celebration. Of course, during the celebration and performance he did what he always does– turns the spotlight off of himself and onto to anyone else who might deserve it.

In this case, Urban decided to pay tribute to a few artists we lost in 2016, including Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” Glenn Frey’s “Take It Easy,” David Bowie’s “Heroes,” Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried” and Prince’s “Purple Rain.”

Urban performed this medley with just his acoustic guitar until his wife Nicole Kidman decided to join him on stage for Bowie’s “Heroes.”

Like most things Urban does– it was touching, brilliant and nearly perfect.

After the live performance, Urban uploaded an acoustic tribute to his YouTube channel.
