Kelsea Ballerini and Taylor Swift’s friendship started off with a simple Tweet. Taylor, the biggest pop star in the world, Tweeted about how much she loved the up-and-coming singer’s debut single, “Love Me Like You Mean It,” and the rest is history.

“Someone tagged me in a screen shot of the tweet and I literally looked at it and thought it was a fake account, and didn’t think anything of it because I’m like, ‘There’s absolutely no way that Taylor Swift even knows who I am,’ ” Kelsea told MTV News. “And then my phone started blowing up and I was like, ‘This is a real thing.’ And so I just pulled up my computer and just looked at it for five minutes straight and did not even know what to do.”

A blossoming friendship began and the two have since praised each other on social media over the years, and have spent a lot of time together. So when one of your friends is about to launch her world tour, what do you do? If you’re Kelsea, you post an throwback photo of the two of you and wish her luck.

Kelsea took to Instagram to congratulate her bestie on the kickoff of her Reputation World Tour, which began on May 8. She posted a photo of the two friends hanging out on the couch, wrapped in matching towels and drinking wine.

“Happy tour kickoff to my friend that is equally as inviting, warm, and entertaining drinking wine on the couch as she is on stage,” she wrote. “That being said, I can’t wait to come fangirl and get inspired. Potentially with a sign. Potentially also with some kind of snake apparel. Go get em, sister.”

Taylor responded to the post saying, “It’s so weird that people say we are similar, I don’t see it at ALL. Love you kel kel.”

Taylor’s Reputation Tour takes her through Nashville on August 26 at Bridgestone Arena. Perhaps we’ll see Kelsea get back on stage with the pop star, as she did during Taylor’s 1989 World Tour.

We can only hope.
