Lauren Alaina may have been dancing her heart out during her first performance on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, but it’s more likely the spunky Georgia girl was embracing a new adventure…newly single.
Prior to her dazzling debut where she performed a sultry cha-cha, Lauren spoke with syndicated radio host and DWTS season 27 winner, Bobby Bones, where she shared news of her split with comedian John Crist.
Bobby asked her, “How does your boyfriend feel about you being on the show now that you’ve been practicing for a couple of weeks?” Lauren’s reply of, “Well, I don’t have a boyfriend,” elicited exclamations of shock from the show’s host and his sidekick, Amy Brown.
“No, I don’t have a boyfriend anymore,” she continued. “There’s no big story, we’re just, we were best friends before we dated and we’re still best friends, it just didn’t work out. I guess that’s how dating goes, right?”
Lauren joked that she had not fallen in love with her dance partner, Gleb Savchenko, who is married with two children.
Effervescent as always, Lauren mostly talked about how difficult the training process for Dancing With the Stars is, but that she was enjoying it. She also said she was hopeful she didn’t get booted after the first week because they had postponed her That Girl Was Me Tour so she could do the show. “I couldn’t physically do both, I literally couldn’t,” she said.
Bobby also told her that Vegas had her odds at 7 to 1 for winning the show. We’ll take that bet.
