On Thursday (April 26), it was revealed that pop star Camila Cabello and country star Kane Brown were collaborating on a reboot of Camila’s Top 20 hit “Never Be The Same.” On Friday (April 27), the finished product was released to the public.

Kane joined the pop star, adding his voice to the second verse and the chorus. Their voices blend well as Kane brings in a deeper register. There’s not a big difference melodically from the original, but introducing Kane’s vocals, adds a different dimension to the song.

Kane and Camila are the latest duo in a string of country/pop collaborations that have taken off. The young twenty-somethings are following in the footsteps of Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha on “Meant to Be,” and Maren Morris with Zedd on “The Middle.”

“never be the same, the remix – I love this so much @kanebrown,” Cabello wrote on Twitter. “Always imagined another version of this song sounding like this.”
