There is no questioning the generous hearts of Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline. After the untimely passing of Caroline’s infant niece, Sadie Brett, the couple established “Brett’s Barn” to give children facing various health challenges an opportunity to be outside interacting with a miniature barnyard of animals. But Brett’s Barn isn’t just about the kids, it’s also about the animals—rescue animals.

Now, Caroline has added to the menagerie again. Nashville pet rescue organization Proverbs 12:10 regularly shares posts on their social media pages of pets that have come to their shelter and are available for adoption. One of their recent residents was an 18-year-old pup named Poochie.

The outlook is often dismal for senior dogs as they are frequently overlooked for younger
puppies, but something about Poochie spoke to Caroline. She met the shepherd at one of the organization’s adoption drives, and it appears a match was made.

Proverbs 12:10 just shared the news that the silver-muzzled pup has found his fur-ever home with the Bryan family. A note on Twitter states, “After reading about Poochie on our social media, Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline, applied and adopted Poochie this past Saturday! He is pictured here with his new mom, Caroline, and his previous foster, Lacy Marie! He is loving life on the Bryan farm and soaking up all their love. Who knows, maybe Poochie will inspire a country song! Thanks Bryans! #CheridTheOldForTheyAreTreasure.”

It looks like Poochie has adapted quickly to life with the Bryans, but he’s not exactly sleeping in the barn. Twitter photos show that Poochie is enjoying walks in the country with the family and a warm, cozy bed in front of a picture window.
