Just because he has a break from touring and from mentoring young artists on American Idol doesn’t mean that Luke Bryan isn’t still performing and connecting with young fans. One especially precious fan scored an especially sweet treat when Luke virtually serenaded her…from his home to hers.
According to TMZ, Emma Lookatch, who has cerebral palsy, had been scheduled to meet Luke during the American Idol live rounds. However, after the coronavirus pandemic derailed the show’s production, her visit was derailed.
The Kids Wish Network and Luke heard of the dilemma and worked together to coordinate a special a pre-taped message for Emma. Video acquired by TMZ shows the sweet young lady’s delighted reaction when Luke closes his greeting with a “just know that I love you.” Squealing with delight, she declares, “This is better than my birthday.”
Luke has been pretty low-key since the onset of the shelter-in-place orders in Tennessee, however, while many of his 2020 tour dates have been postponed or rescheduled, depending on their location, he does still have some shows on his calendar, according to his website.
In the meantime, though, Luke will host the Country Music Association’s Best of Fest — a three- hour special featuring over 25 of the best performances from the past 16 years of CMA Music Festival. Best of Fest airs July 13 on ABC at 8pm ET.
And don’t forget, Luke’s next album, Born Here, Live Here, Die Here, drops on August 7 and includes his current hit single, “One Margarita.”
