No one could have guessed that the word for 2020 would be “unprecedented,” but it has certainly proven to be the buzzword of the year. And now, in another unprecedented move, country singer and songwriter Maren Morris has become the next artist to postpone her 2020 tour season.
In a post on Instagram, Maren says,“In tears writing this, but given these unprecedented circumstances, I’ve decided to postpone RSVP: The Tour to 2021.” She adds, “Thankfully, all rescheduled dates will be in the same venues, so your tickets will be valid at the door. If you would like a refund, the ticketing company will send details via email to all buyers.”
Maren then goes on to say, “These months have been a rolling wave of uncertainty, hope and reality. Let’s do this at the right time when we can all be together again. Safe, connected and awake to that fact that live music, as a fan or the one on stage, is even more precious now.”
The RSVP tour was originally set to kick off June 5 in Boston, and included James Arthur, Caitlin Smith and husband Ryan Hurd on the bill, however, it is uncertain if those artists will be joining her next year.
RSVP: The Tour 2021 now kicks off April 30 in Alpharetta, Georgia and is currently set to wrap on September 6 in Morrison, Colorado. For a full list of dates, venues and ticketing information, check Maren’s website.
As artists and festivals begin to compete for available remaining dates on the 2020 calendar, this may not be the final postponement that we see like this.
