Aside from getting engaged, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have had quite the successful run as individuals over the last few months, too. Ryan was on a couple of big-time tours and signed a record deal. And you know, Maren’s done it all.
So, when it comes to the wedding, Maren told Taste of Country she wants it to be about them as people and not as country music singers.
“Ryan and I are given attention all the time, and I feel like it’s a year of us being celebrated because we make music and we had really incredible years. The wedding … I just want it to feel like us the people and not us the artists. We’re gonna have some tequila, my dog’s gonna be there.”
So far, so good for us.
As far as food goes, Maren shared, “food trucks would be awesome. For someone who’s getting married — I know that sounds weird,” she admits. “I want it to feel like a party. I don’t want it to be a stuffy, sit-down, plated dinner. No disrespect to people who like that.”
“I haven’t really decided on cake stuff, I’m not a cake person. I love tiramisu so I might make a tiramisu cake. Oysters, things that we like to do. And have all of our close friends and family there to celebrate with us.”
