When Carrie Underwood was crowned the winner of “American Idol” she raised the bar for female country music singers. And when she covered Randy Travis’ “I Told You So,” with Randy Travis she raised the bar for female covers of the legendary tune.

Travis’ original version was released in 1988 and hit No. 1 on the charts the same year. Underwood released her cover on her 2007 Carnival Ride album and re-released as a duet with Travis in 2009.

#TeamBlake member Mary Sarah took a stab at the tune during the semi-finals of “The Voice.” She kind of looked like Kellie Pickler and sounded like a youthful Underwood.

Pop superstar P!nk served as mentor for each of the teams and told Mary Sarah she was adorable and that country music radio needs her voice, “I love traditional country. I miss when people just sang and it was all about the song. I think she’s the kind of artist we need on the radio.”

Earlier this season, Mary Sarah sang Underwood’s “So Small.”

Of course, it’s hard to beat Underwood and Travis singing together.
