Saturday (June 11) was a day of highs and lows for Meghan Linsey. It actually started on Friday (June 10) when she learned that Christina Grimmie — another contestant from “The Voice” — had been shot and killed at a tour stop in Florida. While they hadn’t been on the same season of the hit competition show — Grimmie appeared on Season 6 and Linsey was on season 8 — the songstress was affected by the loss of her contemporary and the violence that took her. She stayed up until 4am, even though she had a fan club party and and performance the next day.
I caught up with Meghan around noon with a camera in hand at her hairdresser’s — Jon Steinick — salon, where she was getting the full beauty treatment and preparing for the day.
From there, we headed to her fan club party at Nashville’s Wild Beaver. The entire party was a throwback for Meghan who started out running karaoke in Music City’s Printer’s Alley. The party included celebrity karaoke as Meghan invited Adam Wakefield — runner up on the 10th season of “The Voice” — and Sarah Potenza — from Season 8 as well as a competition between three fans in the crowd.
Next up was Meghan’s performance at the Hard Rock Cafe, where she played a full set of her original music for the excited crowd. During the set, Meghan also took a moment to recognize the previous night’s tragedy and dedicated her performance of “Amazing Grace” to Grimmie.
