In correlation with Loretta Lynn’s first studio album release in 10 years, PBS will be airing a new documentary on the American legend, “American Masters — Loretta Lynn: Still a Mountain Girl,” on Friday, March 4 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings).
The documentary gives viewers unprecedented access to Lynn and her archives, “Still a Mountain Girl” features never-before-seen home movies, performances and photos of the “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” as well as insightful interviews with her family, friends and fellow musicians, including Jack White, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Sissy Spacek, Bill Anderson and producer John Carter Cash.
However, one of our favorite interviews is with Lynn and a museum curator about some clothing Patsy Cline once gave Lynn.
“I wore a pair of panties that she gave me for 4 years and I don’t know how long she had ’em, but I never did wear these panties out,” she said of the women’s underwear with a smile. Lynn even displayed the underwear at her museum for a while.
