Miranda Lambert’s side group, the talented trio Pistol Annies, has been on hiatus since 2013. The abrupt announcement took fans by surprise and caused many to speculate that they would never reunite. But reports of the band’s demise have been greatly exaggerrated. In 2018, Lambert promises to release a new album with Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe.
The new album will be the group’s first in 5 years. The follow-up to 2013’s Annie Up doesn’t have a name or release date, but if it is anything like the trio’s previous work, it will be an album worth waiting for.
Last year the group reunited onstage in Arkansas, in a scorching performance of “Hell On Heels”, which started speculations of the group’s reforming.
Ashley Monroe is currently pregnant and has been working on her own album but has posted a picture of the Annies together as recently as June 11.
Monroe’s pregnancy and a solo album leads us to speculate that the Annies’ album won’t come out until late 2018. If it came out earlier, we would not be upset.
