Miranda Lambert surprised a few fans this weekend (March 2-3) on tour. The Texas native had a couple old friends join her for a mini-reunion. The Pistol Annies got back together while Miranda’s tour made stops in Lexington, Kentucky and Cleveland.

Angaleena Presley, Ashley Monroe and Miranda came together again since taking a hiatus in 2013 and going their separate ways. The night before, Ashley had joined Miranda to perform “Heart Like Mine,” fueling speculation of a Pistol Annies reunion.

Armed with the nicknames “Lonestar Annie” (Miranda), “Hippie Annie” (Ashley), and “Holler Annie” (Angaleena), the trio released its debut album Hell on Heels in 2011. They released the title track as a single and followed that up with a second album, Annie Up, in 2013. Their second album featured the single “Hush Hush,”

In June 2013 the ladies took a break and continued on solo career paths. While many believed the the band had broken up, the ladies assured fans they were just taking a hiatus. Those words are turning out to be true. During Miranda’s Livin’ Like Hippies Tour stop in Lexington, the Pistol Annies reemerged performing “Takin’ Pills” and “Hell on Heels.”

Miranda and the Pistol Annies posted a photo on Instagram and thanked the cities for a great time.

“Knoxville, Lexington, Cleveland. Thank you for an incredible weekend. #pistolannies #livinlikehippiestour,” she wrote in the post.

May 26, 2017 was the last post from the Pistol Annies. It was then that the trio had gotten together to record a cover of Don Williams’ “Tulsa Time.” The song appeared on Don’s tribute album titled Gentle Giants: The Songs of Don Williams.

Next stop for the Livin’ Like Hippies tour is on March 8 in Omaha, Neb. at CenturyLink Center. In the meantime, keep an eye out for a return appearance from the Annies at a future show.
