Randy Travis has established himself as a true country legend. With 17 No. 1 singles, including “Forever and Ever Amen” and “Three Wooden Crosses,” the North Carolina native is more than qualified to weigh in on today’s country.
Randy is using his many years of experience to share some of his favorite tunes with fans. The “I Told You So” singer has created a digital campaign, Diggin’ Up Songs, that will spotlight some of Randy’s favorite tunes. Randy will create his own playlist of songs that can be found on Spotify, Twitter, Facebook and Randytravis.com
“Though Randy may not be able to perform right now, his love and affinity for music stands strong,” said wife Mary Davis-Travis. “We like to say he is ‘singing a new song’ and spending his time giving back to the community and supporting fellow artists — streaming is a great new outlet to do just that.”
In 2013 Randy suffered a massive stroke and had to undergo surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. Travis was left unable to sing or speak and was confined to a wheel chair. Over the past couple of years Randy has been recovering. The Grammy winning artists is able to walk short distances and has been relearning basic functions like writing.
Most recently Randy was seen at Madame Tussauds in Nashville where he was introduced to his wax likeness.
The 58-year-old will add new songs to his playlist every two weeks and spotlight new talent along the way.
