Reba McEntire surprised the country music audience Sunday night (April 15) at the ACM awards when she took the stage wearing the same famous red dress she wore 25 years ago.

During a segment the ACM is calling “ACM Flashbacks,” Reba performed her 1993 hit “Does He Love You” with friends Kelly Clarkson, to celebrate 25 years of the song.  Kelly performed in place of Linda Davis, who sang the original version.

“I wanted Kelly Clarkson to sing the original with me but she was four,” Reba said during the show.

While the highly-anticipated duet was a performance we’ll never forget, it was the red dress that caught everyone’s attention, just like it did 25 years ago.

Reba had tongues wagging in 1993 when she wore the revealing dress, complete with plunging neckline, during the CMA Awards. What may seem conservative today, was shocking during the early 90s, especially for Reba.

Following the performance Reba took a moment give a shout out to Sand Spika, the designer of the dress that made headlines.

“I want to give a big shout out to Sandi Spika who made this dress for me to wear to sing that song 25 years ago. Sandi you rock,” Reba said.

And that is how you host an award show.
