If you haven’t already gotten to know artist Michael Ray, now is the time to get to know him a whole lot better.

The Florida-born, road-seasoned rising star is set to release Michael Ray, his self-titled debut album on August 7. The album, available for pre-order July 17 at MichaelRayMusic.com and July 24 at all other digital retailers. The album includes his currently Top 10 and climbing single, “Kiss You In The Morning.”

Named to Spotify’s Spotlight on 2015 – Country Artists list, Ray uses his new video for “Kiss You in the Morning” to show off his hometown. The video’s also an excellent primer on why Ray and his song are so hot at the moment. Featuring car races, airboat rides and small-town fun, the video shows off the place and people he grew up around in Central Florida.

“2015 has been one of the best years professionally of my life,” said Michael. “Coming from the kid that grew up in Eustis, FL in a double-wide trailer on ten acres of land to releasing my debut album worldwide is such a surreal and ‘I can’t believe it’s happening’ feeling. Many people have put a lot of hard work into making this a reality and I hope everyone enjoys the record.”

The 12-track album captures all the best of Ray, the singer-songwriter and guitarist who’s spent more than half his life performing for ever-larger crowds. Raised in Eustis, Ray has parlayed his true rural upbringing as a member of his grandfather’s old-school country band and made himself into an all-around entertainer who already had a healthy, built-in fan base across the Southeast before arriving in Nashville.

The success of “Kiss You in the Morning” attests to Ray’s instant accessibility. Named one of “16 Songs We’re Loving This Spring,” by Entertainment Weekly, “Kiss” shows his ability to capture the progressive sound and high spirits of country music. At the same time, he’s also got a profound love for the country music of yesteryear thanks to his grandfather, who passed away earlier in 2015. He dedicated his first performance on the Grand Ole Opry to his Papa, playing one of his guitars on stage, and has been invited back several times in the months since his debut, including a performance last night to celebrate the release of the new album.
