At a time when football players are taking a knee during the national anthem and the country is divided on the issue, Sara Evans is standing up to proudly sing her country’s national anthem.
The “Stronger” singer was on hand at NRG Stadium Sunday night (Oct. 8) as the Houston Texans faced the Kansas City Chiefs in the annual Pink Ribbon Day Game. Evans performed a rousing rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.”
In what has become a tradition, the Pink Ribbon Day Game, presented by Kroger, is to promote breast cancer awareness and celebrate those in our lives who have been affected by the disease.
“It was an honor and a privilege to sing the National Anthem Sunday night. Thanks to the @houstontexans for being such wonderful hosts!,” Evans posted on Instagram.
“Had a WONDERFUL time performing the National Anthem at the Texans NFL game tonight!,” she added in another post.
Sara Evans is currently on tour in support of her recently released album, Words, and will reprise her popular “At Christmas Tour” in December.
