Scotty McCreery has a new song and it’s brilliant.

The “American Idol” Season 10 winner debuted his unreleased song, “Five More Minutes” at the Grand Ole Opry on Thursday to rave reviews.

The song, which is about his grandfather, talks about those times in life where you need just a little more time in a moment. From losing a ball game, to a last kiss on a first date, McCreery takes us through the times in his life when he just wanted five more minutes.

The song ends with McCreery sitting at his grandfather’s death bed. Still having so much to say, he prayed to God for five more minutes.

“I wrote this song a couple of weeks after I lost my grandfather and we were very close,” he told fans at the the Opry. “He’s never heard this song, but I know he’s watching and very proud of me and the fact that I’m at the Grand Ole Opry Tonight.”
