If you think you know who Scotty McCreery is, think again.
“I’m in between / Friday night wild and quite Sunday morning between / done after one and keep on pouring / ain’t too high, ain’t too low / just holding down the middle, steady as I go / I ain’t all holy water and I ain’t all Jim Beam / I’m somewhere in between,” the bass singer croons in the chorus of his new release.
“In Between,” the third offering from his upcoming album, Seasons Change, follows his current Top 10 hit “Five Minutes” and “Wherever You Are.”
The latest release gives a deeper look into the life of Scotty. As he sings about opposite ends of the personality spectrum like “Friday night wild” or “quiet Sunday morning” and “too high” or “too low,” the song reveals that Scotty is perpetually somewhere in between. If you thought for a second that Scotty was holy water or maybe all Jim Beam, wrong. You never know what you’re gonna get from the North Carolina native.
We do know that with “In Between,” we get Scotty at his best. Written by Scotty, Frank Rogers, Jessi Alexander and Jonathan Singleton, the personal tune highlights Scotty’s signature vocals with a fresh look at a world that isn’t always black an white.
Scotty’s first studio album in five years, Seasons Change, is due out on March 16.
