Ever since her blind audition, Spensha Baker has been one of my favorite contestants on “The Voice” so far this season– and her knockout round performance only solidified my appreciation for her more.

As a part of #TeamBlake, aspiring country artist Spensha went up against Austin Giorgio (in what might be one of the weirder pairings from a coach so far), and she killed it. She took on Chris Stapleton’s “Broken Halos” and gave it a whole new sound and story.

During her blind audition, Spensha shared that she grew up singing gospel music, and she even had her own gospel album in 2008– and that same passion and soul came through in this performance. Blake Shelton ended up choosing Spensha as the winner, but also stole Austin so he could remain on his team a little longer.

While there are a few other contestants I have my eye on this season, too, there’s no doubt that Spensha will go far in this competition, and I’m already a fan of hers for life.
