Legendary rocker and current up-and-coming country music sensation Steven Tyler has seen it all and done it all. Now, he’s giving back and speaking out.

In November 2015, Tyler founded his philanthropic initiative Janie‘s Fund, in partnership with Youth Villages to bring hope and healing to girls who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect. To raise awareness for the initiative Tyler sent his signature microphone stand to other legendary singers.

Tyler explained Janie’s Fund and the hit song, “Janie’s Got a Gun” to Stephen Colbert, where he also tried to teach Colbert how to use a microphone. But, not just any microphone– Tyler’s special microphone.

Janie’s Fund will bring hope and healing to girls who have endured neglect and abuse. It will also raise much-needed money and awareness to address, through proven programs, the trauma of sexual abuse in children and to expand these services to aid even more girls.
