In theory, I have nothing against the Band Perry. Earlier this year the trio of siblings parted ways with Big Machine Label Group and signed on with Universal Music Group in a joint deal with Interscope and Mercury Nashville. Mostly, the new record deal transitioned a move to pop. This all came on the heels of “Live Forever” totally tanking at radio not too long after the Band brought home a GRAMMY for their work on “Gentle On My Mind.”

And now, stranger things are happening– after a series of cryptic tweets, the group has announced they are dropping a new single to country radio. “Comeback Kid” is due out August 1.

The real weirdness comes in the cover art for the single.

At first glance and second glance and maybe even after a third, it sure looks like the Perry siblings are in bed holding hands.
