The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards seemed to bring out the best in the country music community. The energy and enthusiasm in the MGM Grand were electric and joyful, but it’s questionable if anyone was as excited to take home an ACM award as Thomas Rhett.
Wait. While we’re sure that he was beside himself to win “Male Vocalist of the Year,” it seems like he was already thrilled beyond measure just to bring his wife, Lauren, to the show.
In his acceptance speech, Thomas first joked that he was giving the trophy to Dan + Shay so they would have an even four wins for the night—they had already won “Single,” “Song,” and “Duo” honors. He then went on to say, “I love country music so much. Thank you guys so much for loving my songs and loving our family, and my beautiful…” He then stopped, pointed at his gorgeous wife and said, ‘You are smoking hot tonight. I don’t know if you know this or not but smoking hot.”
Meanwhile next to Lauren, Miranda Lambert and her new husband, along with Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd were “awwwww-ing” the tender moment.
Thomas went on to say that he and Lauren are best friends with everyone in the category, which also included Dierks Bentley, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban, and gave them credit for shaping who he is as an artist.
Congratulations to Thomas Rhett, his smoking hot wife, Lauren, and all of the winners at this year’s ACM Awards.
