TR beat out his musical heroes and buddies, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean, as well as Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. No small feat for a guy who just launched his first ever headlining tour a week ago.

The win follows a huge year for Rhett which included wins for ACM Single of the Year and CMA Single of the Year, plus a GRAMMY nomination for “Die A Happy Man.”

As Rhett took the stage to claim his new trophy from tourmate Kelsea Ballerini, Lauren was absolutely glowing in the audience.

Rhett started out by thanking his management and record label and then started in with the real sweet stuff, “… my wife is 18 weeks pregnant right now, so it this is also our unborn daughter’s first awards show, so that’s pretty rad. Pretty cool!”

@ThomasRhettAkins shoutout to his unborn daughter is so sweet!!! ??❤️#iHeartAwards PC: @gettyimages
