Nashville was on edge of their seats as the announcement for the city to host the NFL draft came down to Cleveland/Canton, Kansas City, Nashville, Denver, and Las Vegas. The final decision is in, and Nashville is the lucky winner of the NFL draft for 2019.
“Following an exciting and successful event in Dallas, we’re thrilled to take the NFL Draft to Nashville. The city has a passionate fan base and offers iconic locations that will enable us to expand the Draft in unique ways,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said. “We look forward to working with the Tennessee Titans, the City of Nashville, and the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp to deliver a memorable celebration of football to our fans and incoming players.”
Tim McGraw wasted no time welcoming the NFL to Music City. With the help of former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George, the two friends teamed up for a video about their town and their team.
“The 2019 NFL draft is coming to Nashville,” Tim said in the video.
“And my house, is now your house,” Eddie retorted.
“And my town is now your town. Make your pick in Music City, ” added Tim. “The future is now.”
And for Nashville, with the NFL draft moving it’s location, that future is bright.
