If you’re a New Orleans Saints fan, there probably isn’t much that will get entice you to watch Super Bowl LII, but if you’re a Tim McGraw fan, you may want to at least tune in to the pregame festivities when the Louisiana native hits the stage to kick off the day of fun and football.
Tim shared the news on his Instagram page with a photo from his own days on the gridiron during his youth. He captions the photo, “Have loved football as long as I can remember… Excited to headline the Super Bowl LIII pregame festivities. Watch live Sunday, Feb 3 on @cbstv ’s Super Bowl LIII Pregame Show, THE SUPER BOWL TODAY.”
Since moving to Tennessee, Tim and wife Faith Hill, have been big supporters of the state’s NFL Titans, but his Louisiana loyalties also find him pulling for college team Louisiana State University and the NFL’s Saints. He has struck up a friendship with the Saints’ Drew Brees, even performing shows to benefit Bree’s “The Brees Dream Foundation.” Then in 2017, Tim and Faith launched their Soul2Soul World Tour at the Smoothie King Center in the Big Easy.
The New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams when Super Bowl LII takes place on February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and airing on CBS.
A cloud of controversy hovers over this year’s event after a questionable play that ended the NFC championship game against the Rams and the New Orleans Saints. In spite of pass interference, no penalty was called.
