Trace Adkins is just one of many celebrities that have had issues with social media and imposter accounts.

The “Still a Soldier” singer made a special video for his fans to make sure they are not being fooled by these fake accounts trying to lure money, among other valuables, from fans. Other celebs that have come out to warn fans against imposter accounts include, Eric Church, Kip Moore, Oprah Winfrey and Chris Pratt, to name a few.

This time Trace took to all of his official social media accounts, and we know it’s official because it has the blue check mark next to it, with the warning. “An important message from Trace Adkins regarding imposter social media accounts,” the caption to the video read.

“Hey everybody, this is Trace Adkins,” he began in the video. “I can’t believe I’m having to do this, but I just wanted to take a minute to let you know that there are a lot of imposter accounts out there on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pretending to be me. Please do not engage with these people or send them money. I do not communicate personally or directly on those platforms through direct messages and I don’t request to follow anyone. Everything from me lives only on my official page @traceadkins.”

He goes on to let fans know how they can make sure it is an official page. “Please make sure to look for the blue check mark on the profile. Imposter accounts will not have that check mark. And one more thing, if you’ve been blocked by me, it’s cause I thought you were being mean. Thank you.”

And there you have it. Don’t get fooled by these imposter accounts, it’s easy to tell if they are real. And just remember a real celebrity will never reach out to individual fans and ask them for money. So let’s all be safe out there.

Thanks Trace.
