Trisha Yearwood was a big part of Fox’s super successful “The Passion Live” as Jesus’ mother, Mary. A few parts of the show were pre-filmed, but all five of Trisha’s performances were live in New Orleans in front of a large crowd and with the help of an orchestra and backup singers.
During an interview with “Entertainment Tonight,” Trisha talked about what it was like to sing on live TV and how husband Garth Brooks influenced her performance.
Obviously, there’s a lot of pressure to sing live and play a major role in the crucifixion of Jesus. Trisha told the show, “Usually when I do something on my own, I don’t drag Garth Brooks with me…but, it was incredibly powerful to have him there.”
She also said Garth cried during the entire show.
After the show, Trisha took to Facebook to thank fans and the show for strengthening her faith.
