Tristan McIntosh doesn’t need any high-energy, country pop songs to make a splash on “American Idol.”
The 15-year-old singer chose Vince Gill’s “Go Rest High on That Mountain” for her Top 8 performance and the spiritual ballad put her in a category all her own. With impressive vocals and a little piano work, McIntosh‘s rendition earned her a standing ovation from Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez.
McIntosh recently found out her grandfather broke his back, so the young songstress dedicated her performance to him.
After the show, Urban even thanked Gill for writing the song.
