23 Songs You Should Be Listening To Right Now

Like technology, music is always changing. There’s always something new coming out and healthy competition between artists continually bring us music that’s just good. But, sometimes even the best songs aren’t being played on the radio and you’ll never hear some really great music unless someone puts it right in front of you– like I’m about to do.

So, what are these songs? Just a collaboration of really good music that you probably won’t hear on the radio once every hour (or ever).

If you’re still not convinced that you should be listening to these songs, here are a few more reasons:

  • “Bourbon in Kentucky” by Dierks Bentley features Kacey Musgraves singing background vocals. Her role is so small she doesn’t even get credit on the track listing, but now you know it’s her!
  • Recorded just before Jack Clement’s death in 2013, “Got Leaving on Her Mind” is a twangy sensation made better with help from Dierks Bentley and the Secret Sisters.
  • Sturgill Simpson is the best singer-songwriter you’ve never heard. If you’re aching for an old-school country music song– this is it. “Hero” is a song about Simpson’s grandfather and one of the most heartfelt songs I’ve ever heard (plus, it’s kind of catchy).
  • Amy Grant released a new album in 2013 and I don’t know how “Deep As It Is Wide” written by Eric Paslay and featuring Sheryl Crow (and Paslay) didn’t win every award ever.
  • “Old Habits” is a duet from Justin Moore and Miranda Lambert. That’s all the information you need to know.
