Alec Baldwin has been regaling “Saturday Night Live” and its audience for months now with his scary-accurate impression of President Donald Trump. The facial expressions, the mannerisms, and the oddly unsettling pronunciation of “China” are all perfect. You’d think it would have taken Baldwin some time for him to nail it down. Or perhaps he’d have been doing Trump impressions for a while on his own. Apparently, that was not the case. It took some goading from SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels and former cast-member Tina Fey for him to finally decide to be the new Trump.

His actual preparation for the role came at the last possible minute as he explained to Jimmy Kimmel.

Trump (and press secretary Sean Spicer) will be providing plenty of fodder for SNL and Baldwin until at least 2020. It’s only going to get better and more ridiculous from here.
