Throughout this season of “The Voice,” Billy Gilman has proven time and time again that he has the singing chops, stage presence and confidence required to carry him to the end.

Last night, during season 11’s first round of live performances, the 28-year-old singer performed Roy Orbison’s emotional “Crying” — and it was stunning. An emotional ballad about losing and crying over a girl, “Crying” gave Billy the perfect opportunity to show off his impressive range and vocal control.

His performance, which ended with a standing ovation from the audience and the judges, secured him a spot in the Top 12.
