On this very day, 21 years ago, Dolly Parton released “Romeo,” featuring legends Mary Chapin Carpenter, Pam Tillis, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kathy Mattea, and Tanya Tucker. Those names alone are enough to make it a masterpiece, but! There’s more. There’s a video, there’s a line dance and well, the lyrics just absolutely incredible.

A list of things to love about this video:

Billy Ray Cyrus is Romeo.

Billy Ray has a mullet.

Billy Ray is wearing fingerless leather gloves.

Dolly sings, “I may not be in love, but let me tell you, I’m in heat.” (This is not something you ever want to hear out of anyone’s mouth.)

The line-dancing looks like deleted scenes from the director’s cut of “Dirty Dancing.”

Towards the end, Dolly says, “I’m old enough to be that boy’s lover.” She’s usually so innocent.

Romeo has magic feet. And you know what they say about magic feet.

Happy 21st birthday to Dolly’s “Romeo.” We celebrate this video today and probably, every day here on out. Forever.
