The CMA Music Festival announced a free kick-off concert the day before the official start of the festival. The free event will take place on the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage in Nashville, TN on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 with the actual festival kicking off the following day.
“The Wednesday concert offers an energetic set of performances to kick-off the exciting four days of concerts that follow,” said Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “It also gives everyone an excuse to come downtown a day early and enjoy free music in a great venue with enthusiastic fans from around the world.” We have to agree with her!
The star-studded line up includes international artists Lindsay Ell, Tim Hicks, and Small Town Pistols from Canada, and Morgan Evans from Australia. Fans will also be treated to a performance by honky-tonk traditionalists Brazilbilly. Shooter Jennings will be performing with Waymore’s Outlaws, his father Waylon Jennings’ touring and studio backing band. Wrapping up the concert is three time Grammy-nominated bluegrass ensemble The Grascals, and Southern rock legends The Marshall Tucker Band.
