It seems like every week is a big week in country music. And that’s the way we like it! Here’s our weekly recap of everything (or a lot of) that happened this week.

Taylor Swift performs a private concert. There’s not much to say about this– Taylor Swift recently visited Boston’s Children’s Hospital to spend some time with a very special 6-year-old, Jordan Lee Nickerson. Taylor sang her favorite song, by request from Jordan, who has been diagnosed with Williams Syndrome, which is a disease that can cause both physical and developmental disabilities and was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.

The most star-studded Tim McGraw cover ever performed. Brett Eldredge and Jerrod Niemann, who are touring with Keith Urban right now, solidified the idea that Tim McGraw is a living legend when they covered “Something Like That” over the weekend. Now if only we could get Tim himself to join the mix and they might just break the Internet.

Danielle Bradbery request line Round 2.  Danielle Bradbery opened up the request line against this week and fans ended up voting for her to cover “Try” by Colbie Caillat. She absolutely nails the performance, but that really isn’t a surprise from such a talented girl. If you missed the first performance, watch it here.

ICYMI: Jimmy Kimmel and Jake Owen discuss drought survival.  After Country’s Night To Rock, Jake Owen appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Show where the two discussed extreme survival measures. Owen also performed “What We Ain’t Got” which is available for download.

The Civil Wars reach a cease-fire. After more than a year of speculation, the Civil Wars announced this week that the duo is calling it quits. After four Grammy awards and countless hits that left us wishing that we could sing a fraction as well as they could, the two have decided to go their separate ways.
