It seems like every week is a big week in country music. And that’s the way we like it! Here’s our weekly recap of everything (or a lot of) that happened this week.
George Strait won Entertainer of the Year, while Jason Aldean won Male Vocalist of the Year. Miranda Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year for a record-breaking 5th consecutive year. For a full list of winners see our ACM Recap.
Stagecoach Festival broadcast lineup is announced by AXS TV, which is great because the festival itself is sold out.
The network will begin the coverage on Friday night, April 25, with seven hours of the festival experience, including performances by Eric Paslay, Thomas Rhett, ‘Sons of Anarchy’ actress Katey Sagal & the Forest Rangers, Brantley Gilbert, Shakey Graves, Shelby Lynne, Easton Corbin and Eric Church.
The fun continues on Saturday, April 26, with several more artists taking the stage, including Jason Aldean, Hunter Hayes, Jennifer Nettles, Season 4 winner of ‘The Voice’ Danielle Bradbery, Don McLean, Tyler Farr, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jason Isbell and Ashley Monroe.
The festival coverage wraps up on Sunday, April 27, with performances by Lee Brice, Dustin Lynch, Florida Georgia Line, Shovels & Rope and John Prine.
Country music favorite Luke Bryan scored seven nominations in six categories, topping the list of country artists nominated at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. The announcement was made Wednesday (April 9) on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Justin Moore and Scott Borchetta (President and CEO of BLMG) were named Humanitarian of the Year by the Armed Forces Foundation. They were jointly recognized for their service and commitment to the morale and welfare of military families through the Crown Royal “Your Hero’s Name Here” contest and other endeavors. The pair was honored during the 10th annual Congressional Gala in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday night.
And that’s a wrap for this week!
