Dierks Bently completed a five year circle over the weekend as he walked the red carpet for the premier of “Only The Brave.” Bently, an Arizona native, was moved by the tragedy the movie depicts and played a benefit concert for the families and first responders affected by it. Today, he has a featured song in the film called “Hold The Light”, and walked the red carpet with first responders and his mother whom he brought as his plus one.
“This song hits really close to me because we wrote it based on the story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots,” Bentley said in a statement. “One of the most powerful takeaways for me from working on this project has been the need to search for hope and light even in the darkest of times. I think right now that message is more meaningful than ever.”
This is the first song he has written for a motion and performed for picture.
On the carpet, Bentley recalled the benefit that he played in 2012 and called the evening, “pretty special.”
