Happy Birthday, Martina McBride!
She has been called “the Celine Dion of country music” for her amazing vocal range, and today she is celebrating her 48th birthday! Truly a triple threat, Martina is a mother, an active philanthropist, and of course, one of the most talented musicians in country music. She and her husband, John McBride, hit the country music scene running when they moved to Nashville in 1989, where he worked with various country music stars including Garth Brooks and Charlie Daniels. Garth Brooks offered Martina McBride her first big break as his opening act in 1991, and the rest is history.
As of 2014, Martina McBride has made waves in country music by receiving more than 15 major country music awards, including holding the record for most consecutive nominations for CMA’s Female Vocalist of the Year Award, and she has been nominated for 14 Grammy awards. Not to mention, between her 11 studio albums, she has made more than 14 million album sales.
So, happy birthday to the amazing Martina McBride.
