If Bruce Springsteen’s version of “No Surrender” was an all-out, no-holds-barred song about youthful defiance, Holly Williams‘ is that, but a little grown up. Way up. Just as much strength and voice, but defiant in a “let’s talk about this” type of way.

The song is a part of a Springsteen tribute album to mark the 30th anniversary of Born in the USA.

Dead Man’s Town: A Tribute to Born in the U.S.A. will be released on Sept. 16 and also features Jason Isbell.

Springsteen’s original album was by far his most successful, producing hits like “Dancing in the Dark;” “Glory Days;” “My Hometown;” and “Cover Me.”
