I stopped believing in Santa fairly early in life. I was so scared of upsetting my parents or grandparents an Elf on a shelf or anywhere else wouldn’t have changed my behavior much. I told on myself more than any elf could tell on me.

Enter in The Elf on the Shelf, “… A Christmas Tradition includes a special scout elf sent from the North Pole to help Santa Claus manage his naughty and nice lists. When a family adopts a scout elf and gives it a name, the scout elf receives its Christmas magic and can fly to the North Pole each night to tell Santa Claus about all of the day’s adventures. Each morning, the scout elf returns to its family and perches in a different place to watch the fun.”

Say what? What happened to just being good?

Jimmy Fallon seems perplexed by this whole Elf on the Shelf thing, too, so he took to “The Tonight Show” to draft out a pros and cons list of inviting the little guy into your home.

That elf sounds terrifying. Right?
