Jimmy Kimmel may work for ABC and get paid to promote “The Bachelorette,” but his thoughts and feelings towards the finale match up with just about everyone who has ever watched the show.

All season long, Peter, one of Rachel Lindsay’s final guys, said all season long he may not be ready to propose come proposal time. He said he was ready for a commitment, he just wants to make sure everything is right and that he doesn’t end up proposing multiple times over his life.

Kimmel, in his monologue following the finale said it all, “Peter did something no one has done on the show before. He acknowledged how preposterous it was to propose to a woman he’s only been on three dates with while she was dating two other people…Nothing is wrong with you! After 21 seasons, you’re the first rationale human-being to ever be on this show. I admire Peter. I never thought I would say that about a contestant on ‘The Bachelorette,’ but I do. I admire Peter.”
