No matter how famous you are or how many Oscars you’ve won, lives you have saved or anything in between– if you’ve ever been in a photo with Taylor Swift and you’re in an interview, you’re going to be asked about Taylor Swift.

Swift has been almost completely out of the press for a year now and in the last month, I’ve seen at least four interviews where she’s casually mentioned (only counting one Katy Perry interview).

Enter: Lorde.

Lorde just dropped an album, so she’s been doing all kinds of press. Of course, during these interviews, she was asked about Taylor. The question was something along the lines of, “is it difficult to maintain a friendship with someone as famous as Taylor Swift?”

Her answer was not very Swift-y and honestly, the weirdest description of a friendship ever.

Lorde told The Guardian, “It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”

I know Taylor hasn’t been everyone’s favorite lately, but is she like having Coxsackie myocarditis? Or Crohn’s? Or any other terrible illness. Doubtful.

Come on, Lorde.
