Nine years ago, “Iron Man” changed the movie industry. It was the first piece in Marvel Studious ambitious plan to move comic book sagas to the big screen and an overwhelming success. Now, Hollywood is scrambling to create new movie universes, sweeping franchises with story lines that span multiple films over years and, potentially, decades. Heck, even Star Wars is doing it.

Over the past week, behind the scenes photos have been posted of Marvel’s new and biggest movie, “Avengers: Infinity War” which will be released as two feature length films in 2018 and 2019. The photos don’t reveal any juicy plot points or insider information, but they do tease the enormity of the talented cast.

Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey Jr., and Benedict Wong, could easily fill out a cast on their own. But this is just a fraction of the cast.

Then there’s Ruffalo’s “green buddy”, Zoe Saldana who plays Gamora in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies. “Infinity War” will feature her alongside most of her “Guardians” co-stars.

Add to the mix stars whose movies haven’t even been released yet, like Chadwick Bozeman, star of the upcoming “Black Panther.” He and all the other main Avengers will also grace the screen with potential cameos from minor characters that we won’t meet until “Black Panther” comes out in February 2018.

It should be noted that these photos are of the actors Ruffalo is working around. There are many other locations currently filming the saga with many more characters.

“Avengers: Infinity War” will star Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Scarlett Johansson, Benicio del Toro, Tom Holland, Anthony Mackie, Chadwick Boseman, and Danai Gurira.

How they will get everyone onscreen is anyone’s guess.
