If you weren’t alive in the late ’90s, you probably don’t remember MTV’s “TRL” and how all the great things in the world happened in that Times Square with Carson Daly as your guide through the wonderful world of pop culture. And no one was bigger in pop culture than pop superstars– the Backstreet Boys.
When BSB debuted their video for “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” on “TRL” it was creepy and weird and wildly successful. It was a mix of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and 14 other horror movies. But, the real highlight? The choreographed group dance number in the middle. Iconic is the only word that comes to mind.
Now, Nick Carter is bringing the dance to a whole new generation on the show “Boy Band” and we can’t get enough. Imagine John Travolta teaching you how disco– this is the equivalent.
Obviously, the original video won Best Group Video at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards.
