Paige Davis from “Trading Spaces” is Throwing Shade at Joanna Gaines and You Know That’s Not Going to Work

I will be the first to admit that I don’t understand the world’s obsession with Joanna and Chip Gaines. Not because they don’t seem like lovely, talented and interesting humans, but more likely because they’ve turned Waco, Texas into a tourist trap and I just can’t process that. However, I do like they seemingly stick to their word, are open and honest about their beliefs and don’t take themselves too seriously. (Maybe I do understand the obsession?)

Anyway, TLC is bringing back the OG home decoration show, “Trading Spaces” this year, just as Chip and JoJo’s “Fixer Upper” says goodbye. “Trading Spaces” has been off the year for about 10 years.

Returning to the show, Paige Davis, recently took center stage during a Television Critics Association press tour and she wasn’t shy at all about any trends that have taken over TV or home decor in the last few years.

Reporter: I’m wondering if you are in agreement for certain types of design trends to disappear, and what some of your pet peeves are and some of the things that you have to talk homeowners out of — like, strongly — and steer them away from?

Paige: Like shiplap?

Oh, no you didn’t! This is the woman who watched designer Hildi Santo-Tomas put hay all over the living rooms of one house.

So, shiplap is fine.
