Priscilla Presley is the co-founder and former chairperson of Elvis Presley Enterprises and acts as the caretaker for the iconic legacy that Elvis left behind, but there’s more to her than that. Priscilla has had a successful career as an actress on the big screen, TV and stage. She’s also the Ambassador of the Dream Foundation, a Santa Barbara-based wish-granting organization for terminally ill adults and their families.
We recently had the chance to discuss a few things with Priscilla, a woman with a legacy all her own, and she shared her candid thoughts on Elvis, his style, his influence and that one piece of clothing that always works.
CO: How does it feel to be the caretaker of a legacy that touches so many people, so deeply?
CO: What was your favorite Elvis Style Element?
PP: His cool jackets and shirts. He had such a flair for style. He didn’t care if a shirt had ruffle sleeves or front, french cuffs or if it was pink, lavender, or a bowling shirt. He’d wear a bolero jacket with a cool shirt and slim boot leg pants. If it looked good, had style, was different…he’d wear it.
CO:What do you think of the blue suede boot? (American Rebel Boot Company recently launched Elvis Presley Blue Suede Collection.)
PP: Elvis had is own very unique style. He truly did. But this particular boot is geared for women. I think they’d put a smile on his face. What guy doesn’t like a woman wearing boots?
We’re celebrating Elvis Presley all year long. Elvis would have been 80 years old this year, and his legacy lives on making him just as relevant today as he ever was. Click here to celebrate Elvis with us.
